Have you or your children outgrown the traditional Advent Calendar? Tired of the same old ‘Secret Santa’ at work?
Revive interest in the real spirit of Christmas with this Giving Tree Advent Calendar. Instead of opening a window each day to receive a treat, you open the window to find an image of a product to donate to the Shipston Food Bank.
All you need is the Giving Tree Advent Calendar, a large bag or box to contain your donations and the willingness to give an item for the Food Bank each day throughout Advent. The items you collect will help needy families in the post-Christmas period, so please ensure all the products are long life, with an expiry date beyond January 2021. Please do not feel totally constrained by the illustrated items but use them as a guide to inspire your generosity!
To take part in this local initiative, simply download the free calendar kit here and the instructions for making and using it here. If you don’t have access to a colour printer you can order a hard copy of the kit for £1 (payable on collection) by emailing calendar@2jays.co.uk with your name and contact details. You will then be able to collect your calendar kit from the Food Bank at St. Edmund’s Church, Shipston between 10:00 and 12:00 on Saturday 21st or Saturday 28th November.
